a letter from our recruitment chair

Dear Potential New Member,

Welcome to the Eta Lambda chapter of Chi Omega! I couldn’t be more excited to represent this incredible chapter as Recruitment Chair for Informal Recruitment this upcoming Fall 2019, and for Formal Recruitment in Spring 2020!

When I first came to American University, I was hesitant about whether or not I wanted to go through recruitment. Luckily, I did. From finding lifelong friendships that provide endless love and support, to unique leadership opportunities, rewarding philanthropic events, and exclusive job connections, Chi Omega has given me more than I ever imagined when deciding if I wanted to go greek. I found “my people” and I would be lost at AU without them!

The Greek community on our campus is comprised of diverse, driven, and accomplished members and the numerous Panhellenic organizations that are participating in both Informal and Formal Recruitment alongside us are truly amazing organizations with equally amazing women. While the process of recruitment and the Greek community on a whole may seem confusing and even overwhelming at times, I can assure you that going through Formal Recruitment was single handedly the best decision I have made at college, and I know that all of my sisters would say the same.

Although you may be unsure if joining a sorority is right choice for you, my sisters and I encourage you to go through recruitment and see what Greek Life and Chi Omega has to offer you. For over twenty five years, the sisters of Chi Omega Eta Lambda have ran home on bid night to unite with a support system that lasts a lifetime.

Be sure to check out our previous recruitment videos below and follow us on our social media sites! On our Instagram and Facebook, you can find out more about this one of a kind chapter and be on the lookout our exciting, upcoming events. My sisters and I look forward to seeing you around campus and in the Fall!

With Love,

Valentina Battista

Each year we look forward to meeting hundreds of accomplished young women during  recruitment.

Whether you're unsure if Greek life is for you or if you've always known you wanted to join a sorority, recruitment is a fun process that we encourage you to experience. Be yourself and you'll find a chapter that you can call home during your collegiate years and beyond.

We hope that you will feel at home in Chi Omega!

Please contact our Chapter advisors, Jess, Kathryn, or Anne for Chi Omega recruitment recommendations, RIFs, or parent inquires. You can request their information, or reach out with any questions through our current recruitment chair Valentina Battista.

We look forward to meeting you all in the Fall!
